On Tuesday, 10 January 2023, we launched the 9104-1:2022 / 9101:2022 Delta Requirements Training and Examination Bundle in English, with other languages to follow based on translation availability.  If you are planning to attend the AATT class to qualify as a ICOP auditor in the coming months, or if you recently attended an AATT class and are in the retake process, this document attempts to answer common questions.

Q: What is the impact of the 9104-1:2022 / 9101:2022 Delta Training launch on the new auditor training process (AATT)?

A: The current version of the 9100:2016 AATT program, and related qualification programs for 9110:2016 and 9120:2016, will continue to run as-is until April 30, 2023.  After that date, it will no longer be possible to purchase or schedule for AATT training until the program is re-launched.

  • Prospective auditors will have until April 30, 2024 to complete any required AATT retakes (9100/9110/9120).
  • After successfully completing the AATT requirements, newly-qualified auditors will have to purchase and complete the 9104-1:2022 / 9101:2022 Delta Training and Examination Bundle to become authenticated to the new standards.
    • This must be completed within one year of the launch of the training in the applicable language (e.g., before 10 January 2024 in English, other languages to follow).  If you successfully complete AATT retakes after this deadline, you will need to successfully complete the Delta Exam before you can begin auditing.

Q: What should I do if I already purchased the 9100:2016 AATT program but have not yet scheduled for an AATT training class?

A: If you already started your online components, we strongly recommend you attend an AATT class before April 30, 2023.  After the program suspension date, the current online components will be retired and will not be eligible as prerequisites for the updated AATT program.  You would need to re-purchase the new version of the AATT Online Component.  If you purchased but have not yet started your online components, and are unable to schedule for a suitable AATT training class before the deadline, you may contact our Support Team to request a refund.

Q: What should I do if I already purchased 9110:2016 or 9120:2016 AATT online programs but have not yet completed them?

A: You must successfully complete them, including any needed retakes, before April 30, 2024.  Otherwise, you would need to re-purchase the new versions of the AATT Online Components for these standards when released.

Q: When I pass the current AATT, will I be able to conduct ICOP audits?

A: Generally, yes.  Although the transition process to 9104-1:2022 and 9101:2022 has begun, there will be a period expected to last at least a year or more until CBs have fully transitioned to the new standards with all their clients.  New auditors will still be able to conduct audits to 9104-1:2012 and 9101:2016 once recognized by their Auditor Authentication Body (AAB).  However, all authenticated auditors must successfully complete the Delta training within one year from release in their applicable language.  If you successfully complete your AATT retakes after this one year period, you would need to successfully complete the Delta Training and Exam immediately prior to conducting audits..

Q: Will the AATT program be changed to incorporate these changes?

A: Yes, beginning in mid-2023, we will release an updated version of the AATT training program that incorporates the 9104-1:2022 and 9101:2022.  This also includes updated versions of the Online Components for 9110:2016 and 9120:2016.  The English launch of this new program is currently scheduled for late-June 2023, but timing is subject to change.  Please see the Content Release Timing page for the latest information.

Q: Should I just wait until the program is relaunched to attend the AATT class?

A: If you already purchased the 9100:2016 AATT Online Component or a 9100:2016 AATT Bundle, as noted above, we strongly recommend scheduling for a training class running before the April 30, 2023 deadline to make use of the product you already purchased.  If you have not already purchased the AATT program, but are interested in attending an AATT class before the April 30, 2023 deadline, doing so will allow you to start auditing much sooner than if you wait, although you will need to complete the Delta Training program after passing the AATT.

Q: What will happen to the AATT in non-English languages?

A: The suspension of the current AATT will occur in all languages on April 30, 2023.  It will then be relaunched in other languages based on availability of translated standards in each market.  Standard publication is determined by each local publication body, so may not occur right away.  As a result, there may be an extended period where the AATT is not able to be run in some languages.  IAQG ICOT is working with necessary stakeholders to try to minimize these delays as much as possible.

Q: Will I need to take new 9100/9110/9120 training or exams?

A: At this time, the 9100, 9110, and 9120 standards are not changing, so auditors will only need to complete the 9104-1:2022 / 9101:2022 Delta Requirements Training and Examination Bundle to be authenticated to these updated standards.  If you already successfully completed 9100/9110/9120 programs, you will not need to take other training or exams at this time, besides the aforementioned Delta bundle.  Brand new auditors who attend AATT classes after the relaunch will receive updated training and exams that incorporate the changes to these standards.
